The Basement Gallery & Studio was built by Artist Matthew Shaw and James Bennett. We wanted our Own space for awhile but The Basement is much bigger than that. It’s a space for the creative community in Adelaide to bring their ideas to life. Having a space not be dedicated to one thing was important we wanted it to be open and free so you can come in and put your own stamp on it.

I call this section of my life Revenge Of The Dreamers haha. Ive wanted my own studio for as long as I can remember. Over the last few years i’ve been making art and clothing at home while shooting content for my friends. I consider myself an old soul and I reflect that in my style and creative arts. Some of my work may scare people but it comes from a good place, working a lot in the past tense using Neo-expression as my main medium, with a raw and expressive brushwork I use highly textured work mixing intensives colours that stems form moments, conversations, thoughts, and feelings in a spontaneous style.
